We survived the 2nd week!

Last Weekend...Popsicles and Painting in the yard. Hoping for a repeat this weekend...nice and relaxed.

Jammie Time

Molly saving a spot for Grace. Harriette getting in on the action.
I had a TB test (so I can volunteer in Molly's classroom) on Monday after dropping Molly off and having a lovely morning coffee with Leslie!
Harriette started crying because the technician told me not to wear a band-aid. She wanted me to have a band-aid.

Tuesday - Harriette & I played at the park with our new friends Allison (mom), Sophia (4), Lilah (18 months). Sophia & Lilah have a brother Diego who just started Kindergarten too. Allison and I plan to swap time watching each other's youngest so we can volunteer in the classroom with our older ones.

Wednesday: Harriette's 1st Dance for Fun Class without her big sister. I only had to carry her a few times. Yes she was the only one wearing a tutu and was doing it with style.

Today...playing with blocks at home after dropping off Molly at school. We painted too.

Yesterday she and I hung out at a friend's house.

Molly made it through her 1st full week of Kindergarten! This was taken this morning.
This afternoon we played over at Molly's friend Claire's house. Claire went to Rainbow School too and she has a little sister Audrey Mae who is the same age as Harriette. I somehow managed not to take any photos. So just picture 4 little gals running around in sunglasses and princess attire!

It's been an eventful week. We are all looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.
Happy Friday! Oh and Molly will be FIVE in less than 3 weeks!

Made it Through the 1st Week!

Yes it was only 3 days but what a 3 days it was! Molly has already made a friend (Grace). Today she made more but couldn't remember names. Molly & I had looked at her teacher's profile on the school website last week and it stated that she had a cat named Simba. We talked about it and decided we would ask her. Ms. Mitchell was very surprised indeed when Molly raised her hand and inquired about said cat.

Let's see...I have heard stories so far about playing "laser" in the garden, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, playing monster, taking a trip to meet the office staff, not enough time to eat lunch, loving my little lunch notes and suggesting that it be a daily occurrence, coloring of course...I'll add more as I get it!

Molly's 2nd day

Harriette and I went to the park yesterday and played then we came home and cleaned but this place still is a disaster. I really don't know how those perfect home people do it. Seriously...I need to know. The magazines don't give you a step by step. More room, less stuff, less electronics, less toys and clothes? Oh well. I'll get it right one of these days.

Harriette and I had the park to ourselves at 8 in the morning!

Anyway...last night Harriette decided to be up for hours and hours. Not sure what was going on...new schedule, late long naps, teeth...any number of things. Needless to say not much was done today. Looking forward to the weekend. Poor Brian has to work tomorrow. The girls and I may head to Disneyland. We'll see how we are all feeling.

Molly today on her 3rd day in line with her new friend Grace. Molly saved a "dot" for her.

Let's see what a full week of this holds!!! Love to all of you!

Molly's 1st Day of Kindergarten

First Day of Kindergarten for my Molly!! Her teacher is Ms. Mitchell and is very nice. Parents got to stay in the classroom during a coloring activity and 1st day photos then attended a parent orientation with the Principal. Then families rejoined their Kindergarteners for recess snack. After that Brian, Harriette & I went to pick up some balloons for a congratulations on the 1st day. Picked up Molly at noon. She made a friend named Grace. We joined Andreas (who was born 3 days before Molly) and his mom Leslie (I used to work with Leslie's hubby Nick) for lunch at the Katella Deli. I cannot believe we have never been there before - unbelievable sandwiches and bakery!

I didn't cry as much as I expected but that was only because I was trying to wrangle HarBar, listen to instructions and advice from the staff, and of course take lots of lots of photographs!  I was maybe more nervous than Molly was. She for sure was taking a survey of her environment but not at all worried to say good bye to us. Harriette wanted to know where Molly was and missed her sister. There were a few aggressive kids which made me a bit nervous and want to run and pick her up and carry her away from the world but I think she'll learn to handle her own battles just fine. That won't stop me from being prepared with any ammo she wants and requires!

Looking very forward to being a room mom, PTA participant, classroom volunteer and anything else I can do to be involved!

It was a very busy day! Molly is excited and happy and that's all that matters.

End of Summer

We visited Disneyland 2 times in the last 2 weeks! Once just Mommy & the girls and the next week with Gramma Ata. There was an incident while riding Dumbo and needless to say it was Harriette who managed to stop the ride and we made a semi graceful exit....

Molly, Harriette and I joined Josh and his brother Nathan and his mom Natalie for a morning the Getty Museum. It was a gorgeous day. Harriette decided to scream and throw herself on the ground yet again. My little performance artist...

Molly attended her last 2 ballet classes. She really wanted her dad to attend one so he took off the day to watch her perform. That day they pretended to be fairies and the final class was Sleeping Beauty.

September 2 - we visited Molly's new school to find out who her teacher and what room she is assigned to. We ran around the playground for a while before our last ballet class.

Gamma and the girls

Jammie Time! My big girl. So good, so complex already at age 4 (Sheesh, she'll be 5 in ONE month!)

More Monkey Jammies! My lovey dovey angel and little terror.

Yesterday we got to celebrate our friend Nico's 3rd birthday! For some silly reason I did not take any photos (a very rare thing indeed!) Molly had a great time in the bouncy house! Good food and good friends.
Thanks John & Leigh!

Tomorrow (Tues Sept. 7) is a informal meet and greet with Molly's Kindergarten teacher! We are excited! 1st day of school is Wed. Sept. 8, 2010! Get ready for a billion photos!!!

Good Bye Summer!
Hello to new friends, new challenges, new routine, new tears, new laughs, new discoveries...
Here we go.....
