Why is She So Big?

Why is she so big?

It's amazing to me that there's almost a full grown human being in our house. She stands at over 5 feet tall. She's 5" shy of my height which I know will happen by the end of the year. She's growing like a leaf but not eating them. She eats a lot these days. She hangs out in her room, texts her friends, watches anime.

What happened to the baby I held on my hip while cooking dinner? The baby is gone and in her place, this beautiful and amazing preteen. She can read me. She can sew, she can draw. She is sensitive but still wrestles with her sister and laughs like Daffy Duck.

I need to take more photos of her. Everyday. I need to photograph this amazing human being that is living with me because it's only a matter of time before she completely disappears.

I love her so much. She's an incredible person. I'm so proud of her.

Teeth!

Both girls lost teeth last week. It's been a long time. Harriette had a suspicion that dad is the tooth fairy but it turns out, dad was instructed by the tooth fairy to help out this one time. Losing teeth is a still a weird thing to me and it means they are getting older and bigger. I'm trying to enjoy every stage. It's hard - I miss their little voices but I love their new voices - full of wisdom and a large vocabulary. This year is going by too fast. It's strange that it's already February. Happy Groundhog Day, btw. I don't know why I love this holiday so much. It makes the family all happy. I guess that's why I like it. Anything that makes everyone happy, I'm a fan of.

Harriette had a violin concert a few weeks ago. She performed fabulously. Cappy and Gramma Bev came out to hear her. I love that they can be here for the girls' special events. I'm thankful for Brian being able to make all the events too. Parents can't always do that. We are lucky to be able to do so.

Molly is still wearing her retainer everyday...keeping those pearly whites nice and straight. I hope they stay that way. I would hate for her to have braces back on. The tooth she lost was from the bottom and she has a permanent retainer for her bottom row. I hope there's enough space for them all to grow in. This is a weird post. Oh well.
