Molly started school again this week. This is her second year attending Rainbow Pre-School. A few weeks ago I asked her if she was ready to go back to school and she said she didn't wanted to go but the week before school started I asked her again and this time, she was excited to go back. First day was on Sept. 8 - she went running in without looking back. And there were more friends to play with - instant "friendship connections" (Miss Tami's phrase). I love seeing new artwork! She's so proud to show it to her mom and dad.Molly has been drawing like crazy. She loves it. Her doodles are very cool and of course there is a story behind everything! Speaking of stories, she has some good ones especially involving a whole crew of imaginary friends with cool names such as: Marana, Maduh, Pinka and Rop. Marana and Maduh are apparently married and they live in Santa Barbara. Maduh is a boy and so is Rop. Rop is Molly's husband but he's not around much and has gone to and from heaven a few times. I dare you to keep a straight face when she's telling a tale. It's GREAT!
Harriette has been increasing her vocabulary. Her first word was cat (She LOVES Jack the cat). Now she's saying belly (and she can point to it). She knows where her head is too. Also new are bottle, more, and bye (adding to momma, daddy, Jack, dog). I think she knows "shoe" too (she LOVES shoes - loves wearing them, holding them, pushing them around the house). She's babbling constantly and will have a full on conversation if you ask her or call her.
She's walking but not constantly yet. She still gets around pretty quickly by crawling. And she's got this ladybug walker that she adores so she pushes that thing around like mad. If you ask her to walk, she'll walk. I love this age.
Harriette's photo is now up on the Designer Clothes by Baby Lulu website! Check it out her: Fantasia collection and Berries & B'Flys collection. Such cute clothes and even cuter baby! It's hard to believe she was that little. She's so big now! Molly and Harriette will be modeling again this week.
What else...we've been playing a lot at parks, having playdates with friends, storytime at Barnes & Noble. The whole family participated in a Chalk Walk Art Contest and we won! It was sponsored by Avery Boo in Long Beach (a cool art studio for kids). We even have our artwork hung up there! We won gift certificates for some local merchants including a photography session. I have never taken the girls to a studio because, well frankly I'm a good photographer but this photographer's portfolio is pretty great so we'll try it out and hey it's free! We like free.
Both girls' hair is getting so long. Molly's has never been cut so it's probably time for a trim just on the ends. Harriette has beautiful curls already - so cute! They are so sweet hanging out together - ok they do fight and annoy each other but that's what sisters do. They also hug and play. We love our girls.
Today we are all a little under the weather. Runny noses & stuffy noses for the girls and for mom and dad - our back are giving us trouble! So we are going to really lay low this weekend. Not much in the way of activities. Lots of rest and water.
More adventures to come....
